Bathroom and Ensuite
It’s great to have everything that you need in the bathroom or ensuite at your fingertips.
You will need to consider how much bench space for basins would suit your needs. You might want storage for soaps including hair shampoo, towels, face washers, makeup, hair brushes and combs, medicines and first aid supplies and more.
Consider whether you want closed storage such as a vanity unit with doors, or open shelving. Maybe a special cabinet for medicine and first aid items, or a mirrored cabinet for your convenience. There are some great ideas on Pinterest to peruse which you will be be able to discuss with Michael.

Laundry
In your laundry you will need to consider what appliances you would like to have and where they will be placed relative to each other. For example, are the clothes washer and clothes dryer stackable, or do you have a top loader washing machine, what type of basin will you have, will you have a clothes airer – maybe hanging, or built in?
Is the laundry a suitable place for a broom cupboard, storing a vacuum cleaner or floor mops? Or a good place to store wet weather gear and outside boots?
Laundry powder and other cleaning agents will need to be stored securely.
A benchtop in the laundry provides invaluable working space.
Dining Area
A dining area is a special area to sit down and eat – at meal times, snack times and when entertaining. Consider what you will use the area for and look for ideas to match your requirements. Would you like to have an alcohol storage here with wine racks built for the purpose, or a cabinet with drawers to store that special cutlery and dinnerware? Maybe you could have some open shelving for special knickknacks and mementoes.
Lounge Room or Living Area
A room for lounging in, for watching the TV, for playing games, listening to music, entertaining guests, or other activities that you might think of.
A custom designed entertainment unit might be on your list for this space, or a built in bench with a built in seat with storage underneath. Coffee tables are always handy, and open shelving for displaying books and photos. A cabinet for storing board games or electronic devices might be handy in this room.

Home Office, Study
Are you running your business from home, working from home, or simply needing a place to keep your bills organised? A Home Office or Study could be in a separate room, or maybe a quiet space somewhere in your home.
This space may have a computer, monitor, scanner, laptop which are easier to use on a desk or bench top. You may want a cabinet, set of drawers or a combination of cabinet and drawers for stationary supplies and a place to store computer cords. Do you need a filing cabinet, or shelving for books and folders?
The cabinetry in this space could match what you already have throughout your home, or you may prefer cabinetry that is unique for this space.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms are usually the quiet space in a home – a sanctuary for whoever sleeps there.
Most bedrooms will have a wardrobe – could it be a walk-in-robe, or will it have sliding doors? What will be stored here? Clothes, shoes, linen, games? Drawers and shelving as well as hanging spaces are always useful in a wardrobe.
Bedrooms may also be used as a place to study, listen to music, catch up on social media. Consider who will be using the bedrooms in your home. What are their needs? Maybe a built in bench for study or display would be useful, or shelving for books and toys.
Other Activities in Your Home
You may have other activities and collections that take up space in your home. Would these spaces work better and feel more comfortable if you have some cabinetry designed around the need.
Maybe you could have a children’s activity and playroom area, a sewing or hobbies room, a home gym or a library.
The cabinetry needs for each of these spaces will depend on how they are used and will be unique to your home.
Alfresco Kitchen
Do you love entertaining outdoors with your family and friends? Or do you simply love to cook and eat outdoors on those summer days when cooking indoors is hot and tiresome? Having an outdoors kitchen on the verandah or as part of a covered outdoor area in the backyard makes cooking outdoors easy.
You can relax and chat with guests and family members while you’re cooking, have cooking utensils within easy reach, maybe have a fridge for keeping drinks and food cold when the indoors fridge is overflowing. Having an outdoors sink would be very handy not only for washing utensils, but for washing dirty hands before going indoors!
